Charles Anderson studied
Drawing and Painting at the Glasgow School of Art. He graduated with a diploma in 1959. He
taught art for five years and then worked as a professional mural painter and sculptor for
the next 30 years.Charles designed and made the tallest sculpture in the UK - a 53ft high
cold cast bronze sculpture in the entrance hall of the Scottish Amicable headquarters in
Stirling. In 1996 Charles won a national sculpture competition to provide a bronze
figurative group for Livingston New Town.Since early 1997 Charles has returned to easel
painting and he exhibits at The Royal Glasgow Institute and The Royal Scottish Society of
Painters in Watercolour. He lives on the Isle of Arran - the subject of many of his
paintings. |
