| Anne Cherry
was born in Kent in 1948. She studied Fashion for three years at The
Birmingham College of Art and Design, and obtained an MA after two years at
the Royal College of Art.Her final show was taken to Tokyo. She won a
bursary from the Royal Society of Arts in 1971 and travelled to Florence and
Rome. In 1972 she won a Harris Tweed award and travelled to the Hebrides.
For two years she worked at a
couture house in Belgravia, and then became a freelance illustrator working
for fabric houses and magazines. Her Fine Art work was published in Holland
and distributed worldwide.In 1978 she moved to Worcestershire where she
concentrated on her paintings - mostly landscapes.
Her work has been exhibited at the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, The
Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour, the Royal Watercolour Society
and in galleries throughout the UK.In 1987 Anne was elected a member of the
Society of Women Artists where she exhibits annually, and in 1989 she was
elected an associate member of the RBSA. |
